According to A&E Interactive, Bill Gates remarked about the viability of IPTV with the Xbox 360.  Gates reportedly boasted that if anyone wanted a DVD movie, the last thing they would use is the 360.

‘Xbox is a very protected environment. No one is going to go and get bits on an Xbox.’ said Gates as he also trumpeted the content control capabilities when streaming content rather than storing it on a local drive.

‘That’s right, it means you can insert ads that are up to date. You can control how much ad skipping you allow.’ remarked Gates.

Apparently Gates is very fond of server side storage as it placates publishers and copyright holders by allowing them to control the viewing privileges.

Considering all of the broken claims of security throughout the entertainment and OS industry, it is rather shocking that Gates can proclaim such a dominate platform as the Xbox 360.  With an apparent lack of modified 360’s out there, he may just be right.
