Have any of you managed to see this? It's directed by Ron Howard and stars Russell Crowe.

"Depression-era boxer Jim Braddock (Crowe) is just a regular Joe who starts taking fights to feed his wife (Zellweger) and family, but as he piles up unlikely victories, he becomes a national hero whose spectacular comeback inspires the nation."

I gotta say, it's the best sports movie I've ever seen, the fights I thought were spectacular as was the down-time between the fights in the movie. I was just overall amazed with the movie, I originally had no intentions of seeing it, and went to see it with some friends the other day. I really think you should check it out. (waits for Motoko's synopsis).

I'll probably be seeing it soon enough, but I was laughing pretty hard when I heard that Crowe was just arrested for assault when he hit some guy while promoting the film.

I really enjoyed it. It was very uplifting!

The movie made me think a lot of my personal experiences. I used to be a successful business owner and ran the company for 4 years. Then due to an economic downfall, I had to close my business and lay off my employees. Then I struggled working two jobs, three at first, and worked about 70 hours per week. And then I was introduced to an opportunity. I worked there for over a year and now I have a new job getting paid substantially more. In fact, I am almost making as much as I did when I was a business owner!

So, I believe this movie is an amazing representation of the human spirit. It's a definate must see...4 stars, there's no question.

Its a good movie that does boxing better than most, but it can be a little predictable, like covenant said, but thats a good thing for this movie.

A true story, about a real person, whom everyone knows... With representation of his real fights... Predictable?

Tell me your kidding... It was not supposed to be not predictable; it's a retelling of history.

Covenant, I'm disappointed in you [/sarcasm]

Great movie though, I loved this one. I wasn't planning on seeing it at first either, now I think I may go a second time.

Craig Bierko (Baer) was huge! Crowe was in pretty good shape too...but when Baer had that look in his eyes when he was looking for the KO, I was scared...damn I wish I could find a pic of that glare...
