Anyone else grab the new demo? It's much better, Online Races, 60 minute time limit, no freezes, MUCH more room to drive, and has an open online enviroment (sorta). It's pretty freakin fun. My ONLY disapointment is that the motorcycle controls are garbage. Everything else rocks.

It's a really cool concept. I hate how it drives though.

Yeah, love it, but the cars are a bit to difficult to control...and the bike...ehhh
That and it's a bit frustrating that you can't earn money in the demo since the Lamborgini dealership is in it and open. I went in there, customized the car I wanted to realized even after winning several races I still have $0.

Seems like they've polished it up from the first demo. I agree that the bike is crap. They should have left them out entirely.
I personally found that the cars handled pretty good after I got used to it a bit. Good physics, nice graphics, HUGE environment, and a good price. My only problem with it is that it's impossible to read the text on my SDTV ... A problem I also noticed on Dead Rising...
Time to shell out for the VGA cable...

Here are my impressions of the new demo...
Let me first start off by saying that this new demo is visually better looking than the previous demo. For one, the graphics are sharper and more detailed. Also they managed to eliminate all choppiness in the framerate which was my only complaint about the last demo. Thirdly, this demo is online all the time. No driving around by yourself anymore. There are 8 other guys driving around the map with you at any given time! Another wonderful thing about the new demo is that it allows you to play for a full hour instead of the 15 minutes the last demo gave you. They also tightened up the controls so it's not as easy to wipe out if you hit the gravel on the side of the road. Before it was nearly impossible to stay your line if you hit the gravel.
The motorcycle controls pretty horribly, but I'd never use a motorcycle anyway. That's what MotoGP 06 is for, in my opinion.
The best part about this game is the ability to just drive around with other players. The first time I played the new demo, I started driving around and noticed that there were other guys driving around. I drove up to one and we talked a bit on how much sweeter this demo was over the last one. While we were talking, doing burnouts and doughnuts, a dude on a crotch-rocket smashed into me and excused himself and said that the bike was insanely fast. I had a Ferrari F430, while the guy I was chatting with had a Ford Mustang GT.
We all decided to see who could win in a quick race. We all lined up our vehicles in the middle of the street we were on and counted down from 3 and took off. While we were racing, another guy in a Ferrari F430 joined in and we all started taking about how sweet it was that we could just drive around with other people. I started thinking about how insane it was that a game has finally been made where you could go online and just drive around without being forced to race. Can you think of any game that allows people to play online without forcing them to compete against each other?
This is why I decided not to get Saint's Row. It's just like Test Drive Unlimited, but only if you play offline. As soon as you go online, it's a competition.
There was another time I was playing and one of the dudes said we should all meet at the lighthouse which is the highest point in the demo's area of Oahu. I know it well, so I high-tailed it straight there and met up with a couple guys that got there before me. We were talking about the game and a couple of newbies to the game asked where the lighthouse was. We all coached them through getting there and they made it eventually. The coolest part was that when they got up there, they were in awe of how insane the scenery was from up there and how far they could actually see.
After a while there were 7 of us up there. We decided to see if we could create an actual race with all of us racing. We all drove to one of the racing points and we all entered. One of the guys set up the race to be a short lap-type race. There were 2 Ferrari F430's, 3 crotch-rockets, and 2 Ford Mustang GT's. The race started, and insanity soon followed. It was so crazy since there's normal traffic during races. It was so friggin' fun. I came in 5th place and I'd have to say that it was one of the best races I've ever raced online.
Just think of how cool it is that you can just drive around and race if you want, or not race if you don't want. Complete and total freedom to do what you want, when you want to do it. This, is why this game is the ultimate driving experience for me. It's what I've always wanted in a racing game, but never knew I wanted, before I played this game. It probably sounds crazy, but I'd easily pay $60.00 for the online portion of this game alone.
You know what the best part about this XBOX360 game is?... The best part about all this is that this game is only $40.00 (US$)!!!!
