View Full Version : Why I never go online/Why XBL NEEDS age verification

Been getting a lot of Q's on why I'm never online, or why I'm only online maybe 15 hours total throughout the entire year and I fucking pay for a full years service.

Well I've stopped playing online unless I'm actually going to be playing online with people I know. I haven't had much time at all to play online, but when I do it's the absolutely worst experience ever.

Refresher course - XBL Games - Halo 2, Rallisport Challenge 2, RTCW, NHL 2K5
Worst game on XBL - Halo 2

Don't get me wrong, Halo 2 is a solid game, just not online. There's a few problems, 90% of people playing that game are kids. HALO 2 IS RATED M FOR MATURE, KIDS UNDER 18 SHOULD NOT BE PLAYING IT! So why is it everytime I play online I get racist bullshit, kids crying, screaming, yelling, telling, convos on how their counting down the days until puberty, crying cause their team is losing. Marc here's the reason why I don't bothing fixing and/or putting on my mic.

Why can't I play with normal, mature guys that just want to have some fun for a bit, that's all. I could care less if I win, I just want to play.

I've found that the more complicated or demanding the game, the more mature the people online. Rallisport Challenge 2 is one game, because it actually requires some better skill, I've yet to come across fucking kids in that game.

About the age verification issue, with these gamercards coming out when 360 is launced, online multiplayer games really need a fucking age bracket, so you can search for games with gamers between the age of 19-24, 25-30, etc.

Normal XBLers, fucking add me if you're just looking to play, not compete to death.

I to am tired of these little kids yelling in my ear, but on Forza theyre not as bad. I don't hear any smack talking, they just sound young is all. I agree with what you said about Halo 2. Thats one of the reasons why I sold that game. If you have Forza and are looking for some fun game, add me to your list.

I get on when I can, but when there's those that annoy the hell outta me - I just go into the friends list and mute them right away. No BS to deal with, and it's quick and easy.

thats why i play custom games... or clan matches, cause clans are usually serious

That's why half the time I play Halo 2 I just keep my headset off. Sure my teammates can bitch at me all they want for not being able to communicate, but its more fun than hearing idiots complain about anything and everything if they lose, and trash talk when they win.

If I'm not talking on XBL, there's a good chance my headsets laying on the floor, just so you know. :D

The only game I have that I have never run into an annoying kid is links 2004. For the most part it's adults. When there is a kid he's always more mature than 95% of...say...the counterstrike community. The people on CS make the game hard to play sometimes, but I still enjoy the game so I guess i'll live with it. I mute people all the time. As soon as I hear someone singing, screaming, bitching.....MUTE!!! Immediately. I don't have any patience for it anymore. If that means half my team is muted then thats fine.

HALO 2 IS RATED M FOR MATURE, little KIDS UNDER 18 SHOULD NOT BE PLAYING IT!

I'm only sixteen but I do no harm to anyone unless they are total Michael Jacksones to me first.

That's the only thing I don't agree with. I'm 16 and I'm a lot more mature than adults I know. But you are right, children should not be playing it yet. or anything online.

Kids ruin everything...spank them if they are 15 and under and send them to bed....

I don't think your age bracket idea will work very well stifler because with most of these kids it's their parents' credit card and name that's registered. So you'd have 12 year olds easily getting into asenior citizen games. :p Or any games for that matter.

There's really no way around it sadly. Just make a large friend list and play with them. Or be host and boot the tards.

i play mx vs atv unleashed the most on XBL and i have to deal with kids like this all the time. the "how are u so fast, ur cheating, is that a 500?" this bullcrap and the "dude ur gay" its annoying. there is no matchmaking or levels for people, u just find a room and play. i wish u could label the rooms like with motocross madness 2, like "Pro Supercross". the best way is to play alot and then build a freinds list like Variation said. because lately i have been playing some of the fastest people in the game and having a blast. its great having a full room of people that dont complain and just love to race. the people are mature enough to realize u arent gonna win every race and if they screw up too much instead of screaming and yelling at people they just go back to the lobby and wait till the next race.

Although little kids get annoying, I usually can put up with it. But what really angers me is the amount of racist comments, regardless of who is saying it. I hate people yelling stuff like "Die N******!" and just blatanly repeating any and every racial slur they know. Immature, immature.

every xbox live games are going to be like that in the future...u might have to start dealing with it by turning ur mic off. and only use it when you play with ppl u know.

I don't see what the big deal is, i maybe find one little shithead a night. Usually I get in a group of friends and play, the other team can cry all they like but as long as you don't sit around in the lobby with them you don't hear them. If I end up in a custom with annoying strangers I leave.
As long as you don't go into matchmaking with strangers you can quit with no consequences.

Turning off your mic isn't always the solution, especially if you're playing a game where strategy is key and you need to talk with your teammates on a frequent basis.

well, first off you have to be 17 to buy a M game. (at least where I live) and second, i think that as long as you are in high school, you should be mature enough to play. You can find immaturity in every age group. Sure, it's more prevelant in the younger years but still, making age reqs won't be 100% garuntee that you don't run into some douche bag.

and there is a difference between immature and unmature. unmature does not show maturity and while immature shows the same, it implies that there is a level of maturity that the person is not living up to. I think that ppl under 15 are unmature and most over are mature but can be immature. ;)

I've come to the observation that all people suck. It's not an age issue, but I would like to be able to leave feed back, and instantly see others opinions on the gamers I am with. Something as simple as a frowning icon beside their name and other info on XBL so I can get out of the game, or mute them as soon as possible. It sucks when you've gotta decrease your enjoyment of a game, the talking is part of the game on live, just because someone is a moron.

That's one thing I'm looking forward to on LIVE with 360. You will be able to check their feedback and see if they are a chronic screamer or what have you.
