Ya-

I only hear good things about it-

Now that I really think about it though, I might wait a bit to pick it up, maybe buy it used. I loved III but VC wasn't so great. It got too repetative, faulty, and took up way too much time.

Woo another **** stain game on Xbox! :)

A game that glorifies the useage of the words; "****", "****", and "******". Add gangs, a horrible storyline, and over-the-top violence, and you have one of the most popular games of all time!!! w00t!

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City sucked on PS2 and Xbox (I own/owned both). I don't see why San Andreas would be any different. Grand Theft Auto is not overrated; it just plain sucks. PC, Xbox, Gamecube, PS2, I don't care, it's the same game, it's the same crap, it sucks every way you look at it.

1)Taxi Missions - Crazy Taxi 3
2)Pimp Missions - (WTF) you can have it
3)Vigilante Missions - GTA 3
4)Firetruck Missions - GTA 3
5)Build up your stats - GTA 3
6)Killing spree's (the icons), single AND multiplayer - Any FirstPersonShooter
7)EXPLORE ie: See how large the city is and find all of the inside jokes - GTA 3
8) find all the Graffiti to be tagged - JSRF/JGR
9)Dancing (an awesome Parappa clone) - As you said PaRappa/Dance Dance Revolution
10) play arcade games (there is A LOT of them. I could cheat and make these like 10 of the list, but that is not neccesary) - Atari/Intellivision/Midway compliations
11)Ambulance missions - GTA 3
12)Buy Real Estate - Vice City
13)Get chased by the cops (one of the most underrated parts of the game) - GTA 3
14)Date - The Sims: Hot Date
15)play pool - Side Pocket
16)play basketball - any NBA game
17)Get a new wardrobe (clothes, hair , tatooes etc.) - The Sims/Fable
18) listen to the radio, as in VC, awesome tunes and hilarous DJ's and Commercials. Sometimes i just like to sit back and listen - GTA 3
19)Street Race - Test Drive/Midnight Club/NFS: Underground
20)Rob houses - Fable

The point I'm trying to make is that GTA 3 did everything first, and so did other games, you say you want to know why Halo 2 will be revolutionary, first of all, it probably won't be, but to say GTA: SA is, is rediculous (I know you didn't, but just if you implied it I dont know). GTA 3 was revolutionary, Vice City wasn't, San Andreas isn't. They added quite a few new things, yes, problem is, is none of it is done that well. Had, lets say, Basketball been done alot better, than yes, I'd let you have it, but it isn't deep enough to warrent a good reason to add to why the game is good. GTA games take alot of stuff from other games, and makes like a GBA version of it (less stuff, not as deep, etc..),and it's rediculous to me. GTA 3 was/is quite possible the most revoultionary game to date, Vice City and San Andreas are quite possibly the worst sequels to date, and it makes me mad how much the public loves GTA 3's sequels when its the same game, with such few add-ons to make it no more than an expansion pack. Plus the games story is so lackluster its rediculous.

I think that's all a rough summary of quotes from my GTA-hating on another Xbox site I used to goto. And Variation doesn't like the truth that GTA VC/SA are horrible games, and gets mad at me for saying so. :p

You should just rent it because you may really like it or really hate it.
I played the PS2 version and its pretty good but it gets really old really fast. All the missions seem to be the same thing and killing people for no reason got unfun in a hour.

I got it, played it for a few hours- Its fun enough, same ol same ol- Biggest complaint is character models- EWE - the nasty looking blockheads (gumby reference) with huge meaty mittens for nasty hands.

I dont know about the story so far either- its too much like Next Friday or Friday after Next something with Ice Cube and Friday anyway- not too compeling yet, although playable-

i also got it....im not too impressed with it so far, i havent played much of the missions yet. the bicycles are really fun to ride, but thats the only real new feature i like. everything else seems too much the same as GTA3 and Vice City.

and the graphics totally aren't that good...they really needed to improve them more..especially in the cut scenes

This one does have the best soundtack by far - Guerillas in the Myst? Who the hell remembers that group from the 90s? Besides me and JJaX that is...I'm having a blast playing the game - reminds me of my only 2 trips to Cali - San Jose + LA - I just wish R* would learn how to make fuckin hands already.

I cannot understand how they can never make the hands look right, they always look like mits with fingers drawn in. I was not impressed with the upgrades, the game looked virtually like the ps2 version (which is not a bad thing). So for those of us who bought the ps2 version, this version was not really worth the 50 dollar price tag. Only advantage / disadvantage I saw was the custom radio and worst controls via the black and white button. Why they changed the controls to that configeration is beyond me. Now the kicker is the pc version can be played with a usb analog controller, plus if you have the graphics card can increase the draw distance even further without the fog of the console version so you can see the whole state of san andreas. The difference is when you go past the powerlines in city they cast a shadow on your car and character. Plus the chains cj could buy to wear cast a shine and reflect off vehicles.

Ok, I've spent a ton of hours this weekend on this game and absolutely love the new feel to it.

So far - I've bought 3 pieces of land so far - 1 being the RC spot that my electrician owned (he now works in the garage I own, as well as some other mechanics that this burnout I met hired). I had to do a bunch of missions with that dam RC plane (I think it's harder to fly this time, but it does have a railgun on it). Cars are nicer to drive, but I'm totally hooked on the speed (and control, now that my 'bike skill' has gone up).

The skills for each and every thing make it pretty entertaining. I've gotten my guy up to full muscle pretty quick and it'll take alot for it to go down even a bit. He has no fat (using the bike and treadmill alot) and I'm still working on my underwater skill (since he can swim now) - since I need it to do a Triad mish.

The funniest thing I've seen that had to do with the plot so far was:

Tommy Vercetti makes a cameo as the new man for this girl I was faping
- hilarious since he was taking her away to Vice City

This is a must have - and they actually improved a bunch of the playability from the prior ones (like being able to climb over walls) - there's a ton of racist comments, though, that I don't think are needed, being that I know there's a bunch of young kids playing this and to hear the N word ever 5 minutes isn't cool at all.

Great game, this series has sure come a long way. It's just not all about stealing cars and blowing shit up. I've probably played for about 10 hrs so far, been doing the missions i finished all the missions for Ryder & Sweet.

The another night i decided to tryout some cheats i found online, just for fun. Some of those cheats are pretty damn funny. This one i used was crazy, I was in some crazy leather suit and all these hookers started running after me with sex toys and their pimps were shooting at me!

(and on PS2). It's two-players get to run around, or do a rampage "mission". But you guys cannot go so far away from each other, and when you both get into a car, the aim-system for the passanger is awful, and hit-detection is poor at best. My advice is crouch on the vehicle to maintain the normal aim system and your still "on" the car and moving.

My personal opinion, though usually mudane on the subject of Grand Theft Auto; the multiplayer sucks ass and could've been done so much better.

Hmm.. I've been curious about getting GTASA for my Xbox. I haven't gotten a game in a long time. At first I was very much against GTA and all that. But I got curious and I "got" Vice City for the PC. I started to like it. Sure the graphics are crap, but I kind of liked the story and that whole Miami Vice meets Scar Face deal that's going on. So naturally I've been curious about GTASA.

Not missing much, but if you want the cliffnotes of whats the difference in SA compared to VC:

-Better graphics
-5 times the size of VC.
-Same glitches
-No REAL problems fixed
-90's soundtrack/setting
-75% more use of the F word
-236% increase in the N word.

Ya...not missing much.

Can't forget 100% Horrible Storyline.
75% more Hollywood Talent
40% more hours of music...
99% of that music is rap
1% is the one Guns N' Roses song
If your speeding a cop still won't pull you over
If you run a red light a cop still won't pull you over
Let's just say this; the only crime you can commit in the GTA world is killing someone, robbing a store, or wrecking...into a police officer. Everything else is taboo here. :)

and after all this, overall, 0% improvement. :)

San Andreas is badass. Who gives a shit if they overuse cusswords? What are you, a fucking 80 year old woman? Besides, most of the cussing is hilarious...or at least 'appropriate'...after all, the main character is a black gangster. And we all know how they are...

GTA III is the best of the series, and granted, Vice City did suck after about 10 minutes, but this game is a lot different. It still feels a little bit like a GTA game, but only to a certain degree...if you don't like this game, great, but announcing it as the WORST GAME EVAR!!!1111[/capslock] is bullshit.

I may buy GTASA at some point, but that point is far and away. GTA has always been simply a goofy, testosterone rampage anyhow.

I still say GTA 2 was the best of the lot. I don't care how 'this gen' San Andreas is, it's still nothing like the old isometric GTA where you could skid across pedestrians and leave donuts of blood......BLOOD!!!!

So, yeah, I'm glad some of you guys are enjoying the game. I'm just holding out on any Xbox purchases until Conker, which could well be my last Xbox game until the 360, or until StarCraft Ghost.

Whooaa there big fella- (...haha, beats himself  ) Just a discussion- can speak more than once in a discussion-

I think he has valid arguement- people praising this game are leaving out the glaring flaws and horrible faults this , albeit enjoyable, title has.

GOOD
I have got into it more- I enjoy it, mostly- It does have very fun moments, and fun moments you can cause yourself by loose structure of game-

BAD
Driving back and forth EVERYWHERE- Sloppy *** controls that seriously hamper gameplay- worst character models on Xbox and are always given close ups- AI CANNOT find staircases and run into walls, drive INTO you, Cops do not know what a law is (cant draw a gun in secluded basement of PD but can carry rpg down street and drive 150 through red lights  can go on for a long time here) HORRIBLE acting (listen to the guy from the tanker mission- did they pull the guy offf street?) and an even WORSE script, (saying nigga 10,000x does not make you gansta posers, if you think the characters are 'hardcore' you need to get out of your house at least once) and the sloppiest/lamest story of the series. There are pages full of glitches (although some fun- I jumped of building with parachute and cut it imediatly after opening falling for several seconds without getting hurt) altogether this game has a bout as much polish as a rusted nail- but it can be fun, it can also piss you off because of stupid faults you cant controll but will need to do missions over and over for- R* doesnt make quality games (look at State of Emergancy gets old in seconds) they do make quantified games-

If you didn't like GTA III this one isn't any better-
If you Like GTA III, this one has more of it for you- but unimproved upon in terms of quality its mostly quantity.
