OK, I really want to go wireless but man, I just don't want to pay 99 bucks for the official adapter.
I sold off my old Xbox adapter, so I'm going to have to start fresh. J Allard was quoted in an interview saying that other adapters could work.
So, has anyone tried other USB type adapters or ethernet adapters from other companies and had success?

I hate having all this cat5 cable everywhere, when my laptop and my PC are wireless already and my old Xbox used to be wireless without problems.

Some ebay stores sell them for $49.99 (original xbox adapter), I paid $30 for mine on there.

I saw you playing BFMC and you didn't join me you bastard!
Wait.. never mind because I'm starting over so I can't until I'm ranked up with you. I'm a corporal now and have a couple of medals unlocked.

So does the original Xbox adapter work alright?

He still has the original Xbox and probably thinks you do too. he's simple like that.

I just went wireless with everything else minus the 360. Why not have it wired directly and make everything else wireless?

Right faggot that explains why I was in this thread telling him how to get a cheap adapter for his 360.

Anyway Rec, yeah I'm still on the original. I really wish they'd just made this title backwards compatible but eh. When I get a 360 I'll definitely pick it up though.

Hmm.. OK, that's a good sign. But I need the Wireless G because I figured out how to get the thing to find my PC, and we do stream media.

Duke, oh I thought you had a 360. I guess there's no way to tell which version of BF you're playing from the friend's list. At least none that i can tell at the moment.

Everything in my house is wireless. I just wanted to get rid of the one cable to the 360 because it's stretched around my living room when I need it and I have to keep it normally unplugged or we'll be tripping over it.

I was given a Linksys for my original Xbox, but quite honestly the connection was never solid - depending on the area. I'd just stick with the cables. It took a long time but I've got them inside the walls and accessible parts of the ceilings in the house.

Yeah I know. I may have to stick with the cables, and right now my alternative is to run the cable beneath the carpet, which is something that doesn't always work the way you want it to.

Oh well, I just think it's a load of crap that they charge 99 bucks for a USB adapter when there's adapters on the market that are way cheaper.
It's the same technology. You just have to pay for the name brand.

And the fact that it's built for the system so that it fits onto your system.

I think at least on my fl (through the xbox) it will say Reclaimer DHS playing BF2:MC xbox live game. While if someone is playing it on the original it will say just BF2:MC.
