View Full Version : Anyone have a Complete 360/PC Setup?

Today I had the day off, even though I still ended up working all day. Nevertheless I finally decided to complete my 360/PC setup. I had installed Windows Media on my PC and set things up through on the 360 so I use Media Center on it and all the jazz. The thing is I was wireless with my 360, and I'm on the first level of a four story house so the connect was fucking horrible. Ended up buying a switch and setting things up perfectly, so everything is good to go.

Real thoughts: It's okay, I was actually expecting a lot more. Some of the features are pointless though. Who the fuck wants to log onto MSN messenger through your TV anyways? You know what a fucking bitch it is just to send a text message? It has its advantages, but I don't think it's really worth it to go out of your way to set it up. If you already have Media Center you might as well give it a shot.

My PC and 360 refuse to talk to each other, even after being on customer service for quite awhile, so I gave up :(

It's a hassle to install everything, it took quite a bit for me. There's a few things you've got to do before setting it up. Hell I'm not that bright with this kind of stuff and I got through it alright.

I just installed the Media Center OS last week - finally went and bought it on NewEgg for about $120. It's ok, I just wish that it supported more codecs for movies because half of mine I can't watch. It took me a bit to realize that I had to remove my old computer setup that was on the 360 and then re-connect to the new one before I was able to share files.

I'll be toying with it a bit more this weekend and hooking my USB keyboard back up to it to use MSN.

Yeah, didn't like the fact that you can only watch a limited amount of videoclips. There's certain shows I wanted to watch but I couldn't. At least 95% of the videos I tried didn't work, but whatever TV I recorded on the PC worked fine.

What kind of video card do you have? I have DirecTv, so I don't even think I'd be able to watch TV on this.

Bah, I hate that it still needs MediaCenter. I wish they'd come out with something of the sort that would allow a normal XP Pro machine to do that same.
