Crystal Quest, Geometry Wars, and every other product on XBLA has slick graphics. While graphics are not a major issue for me, why wouldn't they have given the same treatment to SF2?

Because it's SF2. They aren't re-making the game, although it will support hi-res, they're just making it playable on the 360.

The point is nastalgia. You want to play this game because it was the game you played for hours and hours and hours with your friends. Bragging rights meant everything to you. If you didn't win, you were the butt of all jokes that day. You were not the friend that was any good. You were the guy saying, "so what, it's just a game...you're mean."

The best part about SFII on Live is that they are setting up a "Virtual Arcade" where it is bascially....a virtual arcade. You put your "quarter" on the machine for the right to face the winner of the match. The best thing about it is the fact that you actually get to watch that match happen while you wait. Just like an arcade.

From what I've heard the delay has been getting the Virtual Arcade running smoothly (read: no lag) as well as some HDTV conversion problems and they are trying to get the sweaty boy arcade smell included in the game somehow.

This game is going to put it over the top for me, and I just might have to get an Xbox 360. Especially that virtual arcade portion. Many a day were spent with my friend back in the day, swapping out rounds to waste other players at the podium (which sat in front of the 50 inch TV at the time).

It's too bad arcades went to hell.
