Well, I wasn't feeling so well today, so I stayed home from school, got bored, and made an attempt to make an overlay for my myspace. and so, This (http://users.cjb.net/megaphonedesigns/islands.htm) is what I came up wtih

that really helps, it gave me the basis on how to not cover the ads.

and after that I just edited it in dreamweaver

I got bored during 4th period so I made this (http://users.cjb.net/megaphonedesigns/minimalism.htm) unfortunately myspace doesn't allow javascript, so no one really gets to see my new layout.

that's really awesome skoot :)

After AP testing I'm going to make a new overlay, I deleted that island thing cause no one could figure out how to work it that well. But for now, I have a temporary normal customized myspace.

myspace./sodajones (myspace.com/sodajones) sorry if it takes a while to load the background picture, I gotta fix that, but if you wait long enough it looks great....ill fix it when I get a chance...plus the outside background needs a touch up lol...either way it's a work in progess

Man, all your layouts are nice. Hell, I was happy because I made my own background and tables. Of course, it was all lined up until someone posted a picture and it fuxored up my allignments.

But my layout is simple but I did it all myself with no particular knowledge of anything.

I created a test profile so I can learn to do this stuff and not always have to fix my profile up. If I can ever get anything decent I will use it on my main profile.

I found another tutorial today to start the learning process. I have never done style sheets before. I have done some HTML in the past. And some programing in Basic, Pascal, C++, Visual Basic, and Java.

So here is what I got so far... I just started, so it really sucks lol. But it's a process damnit so get off my back lol

EDIT: The links work for my main profile actually.

EDIT2: UGH!! I use Firefox, and everything looked cool.. then I went to IE and it was a disaster :( Things were waaaaaaaaay off. So right now there isn't much on the page.. figured I'd start over. And that was a waste of time, because it's not working any better.

I had a lot of problems with the way my profile looked between the two browsers.
I had a somewhat transparent overlay over my top 8 friends and it looked cool in IE, but it looked like ass on FF, it blacked out a couple of pictures.. it was weird.

I wanted that overlay because I had a dark theme going on, but I had it to ditch it because it wasn't working out.

I recently took out my flash mp3 player because the songs I had hosted on the web kept getting chopped up and that whole idea just generally failed. I had to go back to the default myspace player.

Hmm..I was wondering if you guys could help me out, cause I suck at CSS.

http://www.myspace.com/shanesprettycool

As you can see, I have it all centered. But I don't want it all centered. I want it in the grayish area kind of like this guy: http://www.myspacesupport.com/myspace-layouts/preview-code.php?id=60&cat=1

But I couldn't begin to figure out how to constrain the crap all in one area, I searched for tutorials for an hour or so.. Any ideas?

Oh...and whatever code I found to center it all made the blog disappear. Hah.

My myspace is so lame right now. I've been trying to figure out the overlays but it just isnt' working for me... figuring out how to put in my picture, and friends pictures, and music....ugh...

When it comes to the regular set up, I'm actually pretty good, I can create my own but I'm just sick and tired of the same ol' story....I wanted something different than everyone else you know?

Can anyone create one for me? Or anything like that?

Nope. However, the regular background myspace comes with is the best.
