View Full Version : Question about Star Wars?

I was having a chat with a co-worker about Star Wars, being that he was going to see ep. 3 at midnight, and we got into a bit of a dispute. I brought up episodes 7,8, and 9, and he told me there was no such thing. I specifically remeber that the whole point of star wars was 9 films released as 4,5,6,1,2,3,7,8,9. He is telling me there never was 9 films, it was always 6. Can anyone else confirm or deny this, and perhaps provide some proof that if they are no longer planned, at one point there was a play for 9 films. Being that i am not at all a fan of star wars, it would make me rather happy to *** a long time fan.

Ep. 3 will be the last film released. Whether any more were written, I have no idea.

Also, check out www.supershadow.com Apparently in an interview with lucas he said the following

George Lucas: Whether Episode 7 ever gets made is up to the fans. If Revenge of the Sith is the biggest hit film in 2005, then we will move forward with Episode 7. If the fans let me down and Revenge of the Sith is not as successful as I would like, then we will close the door on the Star Wars films. Box-office failure will prove that there is no longer sufficient interest in Star Wars to justify making yet another trilogy.

I think he's said it more than once. Most recently on 60 minutes a few weeks ago.

I sure hope they make 7,8,9 that would complete the series in my mind. Maybe Lucas could help write material, but let another direct the films. I believe i heard Lucas say before i think it was on the special edition vhs released in the 90's that he was gonna make 7,8,9.

I really couldn't see him giving that up if they were to be made, but who knows.

Thats also the impression I'd got. concidering the time lapse between the first two trilogies, lucas will be an old man if and when they did the last series, assuming they followed suit. i would think he would hand it over to another director, and just lend advice where necessary.

What a fucktard, if the fans let you down? How about if your complete lack of intelligence lets you down you old basterd? You make 2 abominations and dare to blame the fans! I really hate George Lucas.
All you need to do to George Lucas to spit in his face is say "Jar Jar"

technically, there is another trilogy to be made. And a ton of movies after. But lucas is stopping after this one. The later stories get interesting too, Jedi order is brought back, Luke turns to the dark side for a bit: all in all, some good stuff happens.

I know that at one point there were plans for the trilogy and knowing lucas, they are already written. whether or not he does them is another story and what they would be about, im not sure. personally, i have mixed feelings about them. if he does make them, i know it would be for the money and i know that his movie making skills are deteriorating because of that. he wanted a broader audience for ep 1,2 and he delivered very unsatisfying films. so if he created the next trilogy AND its target audience is at least teen to adult, then they will be worth seeing.

Also, check out www.supershadow.com Apparently in an interview with lucas he said the following

Not "if Episode III does very well, we will move on to make a seventh." No sir, it needs to be the biggest hit of 2005.

No exceptions, fans! See it as much as you can, or no more Star Wars for you!

Like he needs more cash.

I thought I read somewhere that when they signed the actor to play Chewy again he signed for 4 films. Maybe it was just a rumor.

Here's another Star Wars question.

At the end, what were Padame's dying words? None of my friends could understand it, either.

O yeah, if ROTS was not a success. Thats hilarious.

I don't think he should. The 6 revolved around the story of Anakin Skywalker, whether 4,5, and 6 used Luke to convey it or not. To continue the series would make it even worse.

Aha! It was one of my favorite lines of the movie! "There's still good in him...I know it". I'm quite sure thats what she said. Ties in well with ROTJ, only Padme and Luke knew there was still good in Anakin.
