This problem started a little over 3 months ago. Basically, I can sign onto live and play games. However, that little screen comes up roughly every 5 minutes that says "Cancel / Start Troubleshooter." I can sign back in but really I have no desire to knowing I'll be kicked again in 5 minutes.

It's really frustrating the hell out of me. Anybody care to help?

Do you have a wireless router? I assume you have had Live working before.. more info needed..

Yeah its a Linksys 2.4 router. My laptop, my moms laptop, and my bro's PC are all connected (along w/ XBL).

It worked fine before, almost errorless in fact. Hardly any lag. I'm thinking maybe I have to change something but not really sure what...

You have DSL or cable?

ping a website, look for time out.

(windows button R > CMD > Ping yahoo.com -t)

You can also take that IP and do a few trace routes, look for bad hops.

( Tracert <ip address> )

Chances are your ISP is slacking off and theres a bad hop somewhere. I had the same problem with Verizon DSL.

You also might want to upgrade the firmware (http://www.linksys.com/download/) for the router.

i think wbio had a problem similar to this, but i think it was less frequent than every 5 minutes. He later found out that cox, his cable provider, just sucked butt and it was there fault, I believe. he'll know more about it than me.
