Hey everyone. Figured that because we're all gamers, I should see if there are any of you that are into comic books as well. I want to know what titles you dig and why. Personally, I'm really into Spawn (even though it wasn't as good as it was in the 90s but I still dig it), I really like the Marvel Zombies stuff, and I recently picked up Battle Pope. . . one of the most sacriligious, blasphemous, and hilarious titles I have ever read. So c'mon guys, sound off. Let me know what you read, what your prized posession is, what you're looking forward to, or even if there are titles you're curious about and are trying to figure out whether or not you want to shell out your cash for it.

The closest I come to comics is Penny Arcade.

I haven't read a lot of comics but the ones I really like are the ones that turn the conventions on their ear. Watchmen, Akira, Domu, and the Maxx are the only ones I ever got into. I've read a couple Narutos and I like the over-the-top humor.

There are some artists that I like: the guy that illustrates Lain is pretty crazy, Tatsuyuki Tanaka, Yoshitaka Amano's random collaborations, Otomo's stuff, any of the Studio Ghibli artwork is amazing.

*Edit
I forgot Sandman. I've only read a couple but the were great. I love the one Amano illustrated.

Get yourself a copy of 'Preacher' by Garth Ennis and let me know what you think of Battle Pope afterward.

And I really only read collections. I don't have the patience to do the issue by issue thing.

Hmm, heard lots about it. I like BP because it's so funny, but I have been meaning to look at Preacher for a while now.

Oh, Preacher (http://forum.teamxbox.com/image.php?u=3394&dateline=1145647805)is HILARIOUS....if you're a so twisted an individual that you have to screw your pants on, of course. My favorite comic, next to the unbeatable, 'must-have', 'Hard Boiled' (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1878574582/002-3925460-5524855?v=glance&n=283155) by Frank Miller and Geoff Darrow.

Cool, thanks for the heads-up.

The last one I actually read was Black Hole by Charles Burns.
