Football Manager 2006 will require an HDD unit to play the game in any form. No memory card allowed. We guess this goes against MS's claims that you will not need an HDD to play any game. Oh boy. Click on the news title to see the packshot for yourself.
Lets not forget that FFXI will also be requiring a HDD. Well thats only two I guess and two that to be honest many people will not get but only time will tell if those who lucked out and got a Core system end up having to snag a HDD in order to play thier next must have game.

Doesn't bother me. I'm actually happy that games have to use the hard drive because its just better.

this is good because developers are taking advantage of a good thing.

If they can't make a game save small enough to fit on the memory card, there's something really wrong there.

But if they are going to try and make good use out of the hdd, meaning that the game will run even faster using the hdd as a cache device, then that's fine.

It was bound to happen eventually.

i kinda thought that when i first saw that the hard drive was going to be an option.I think MS knew it was going to happen eventually but still did the two packages so it would look like you were getting a bargin if you bought the cheap one but really will end up spending more on it in the long run beacuse you would have to if you want to be able to play the games.

i think the real bargain was the premium package.

i agree completly but i think we are both educated gamers while someone who doesnt know or if it is there parent buying it they will see cheaper and go for it. I dont think the news that some games will require a hard drive will effect people like us who spend out free time posting on xbox forums but more casual gamers who dont really know as much about a system before they purchase it.
