The cinematography looks amazing...it could rival Sin City. Then again, Keanu has the capacity within him to act so terribly that it ruins any creative juice left in the movie. Constantine would have been a great movie had Bruce Willis played the lead role.

Read the book. It blew me away, and that takes a lot.

*cough*episodeIII*cough*
im reading the book as we speak, mainly cause of motoko. I havent gotten far into it yet, but you've hyped it up quite a bit moe, and so far, its living up to it. Weird that maul and you came out with almost the exact same opinions of it though.
Anyways, i just saw bladerunner, i saw minority report, and I saw total recall when i was young (gave me nightmares for months), and now scanner darkly is amng us. Do you think it can live up to electric sheep, or any of the classic phillip k. dick novels?
(im asking anyone in the thread)

Maybe...like i said before, Keanu's acting can and will ruin anything. The only reason the Matrix worked out so well is because the lead character needed to be confused and questioning why he was there. Luckily, Reeves happened to stumble onto the set, and voila.
Whoa.

Bumped because release date is approaching (please don't close, mods!!!)
I personally think this looks mind-blowingly good...I'll be seeing this just for the effects being done...planning on getting into the book soon. DISCUSS!!

Since the first time I heard about the movie a year or more ago I've been quite overly excited for it. It made my day when I found out it was to be released this summer.

It doesn't sound like Keanu has got that whole "talk at half-speed" thing going on here like he did in Constantine, which is a plus...and the camera work seems to resemble that of a Tarantino-Sin City spin, which is another plus.

That's the movie I've been trying to remember. I saw the preview for it AGES ago and always wondered what happened to it.

It doesn't follow a traditional storytelling path, in fact it hardly passes as a story.
Nonetheless, I really enjoyed it.

A Scanner Darkly.
Waking Life was never a novel. :)
