Ok, I love this game, but I can't stand it at the same time. About half the time I want to play online (about the only way I play it), I can't seem to get on. I just get random messages from "Can't sign in (even though I've already signed in to LIVE! on the dashboard)", to "Can't find EA Online", etc..etc...

Is this just a problem on my end or is this a common occurance with this game?

I had some connection problems at first, but they've cleared up. Now I sometimes get no games available or game full over and over, but I just log out of live and back in and everything works.

The EA forums are littered with people screaming that they can't get one since the Warsome update.

I've never had a single problem except for when I couldn't get on, and then saw that EA was doing server maintenance.

Yeah, I just checked over there a little bit ago and saw others with the same issue. I'm not sure why it happens though since it's random.

At times I could be on and playing and then the message pps up that I've lost connection to the Live server. I'll go to the dashboard and see I'm still signed into Live though...*shrugs*

I hope they get it fixed soon, that's all I know.

How to Get medals by Duke

First, go for some of the more difficult ones while your rank is low. Once you get higher you will only be playing with more experienced people and they will be much harder to get. There is always cheating and you'll find quite a few servers where they're doing that, but usually they'll boot you and you don't really want them that way anyway.

Air medals- Little Bird. I recommend doing it on Honor. Hidden is also good but the amount of GTAM's make it a lot harder. Plus Honor has a repair station on the Heli pad you start from so you can keep going back to fix yourself up.

If you're not going to make it or suck at avoiding the laser guided you can always bail and hightail it back for the spawn but it's a long one on that map
and there will probably be others hoping to nab it from you.

On Hidden I would go as an engineer and periodically find a deserted beach (by 3) or head back home to fix things up.

Bronze Stars - It's all about the 30mm. Pick a map like Backstab or Frostbite or Dammage (love that map) that has quick spawning 30's. Go out wreak havoc. On Frostbite I like to play as the Chinese because their tanks have a lower angle of fire and there are no helicpoters. I usually tool around in the woods which can be tricky to drive in at first, but once you get the hang of it it's easy. You can also go take four and camp out in the open garage. This is usually good for a few kills plus some bonus defend points. Better have an engineer though because they will only let you get away with it for so long.

If at any point you think you're going to get got blow your tank (if you leave it it will not respawn) and head through the woods back to 1.

Like I said Backstab is also good for this (30's spawn at 2 and 6), but the more open terrain and presence of the 120's can make it much harder.

Sniper- Probably the easiest medal. Pretty easy to get on almost any map but I recommend playing as the Chinese on Backstab and bailing out of a chopper high above 5 and landing on the spire. Keep low, don't expose yourself and don't miss. They'll get you sooner or later, but generally you can get your 4 kills. Keep an eye on 4 across the street they're easy pickings from up there.

Assault Clip - this one can be kind of hard. I think the best way is to play missile crisis as the defending side. Either climb the mountain and get up on the roof of the wall (left side if facing out) and pick either down or across or go up the right and duck down in front of the break in the wall. They'll pour through there sooner or later, just watch out for grenades and flashbangs.

Kills w/out dying - Pretty easy. Take a choke point or camp a flag where you have easy access to ammo and health.

That's about all I can think of for now. I think I've still only got 7 medals.

Thanks duke ... I have 4 right now and have been trying to figure out ways of getting the other ones but generally it is hard unless you have people that are goin to let you heal them or repair the vehicles.

Also, for the engineer one do the vehicles have to be occupied when you repair them or what.

Yeah, same w/ the specop (c4) medal.

I don't have it yet, but there is always someone in a match who has their buddy running into walls so that they can repair the vehicle. As long as the damage isn't taken from friendly fire and a driver is in the vehicle it's a legitimate repair.

Ive tried downloading the warsome pack a number of times, but it won't let me. Every time it gets to the screen where you hit A to download it everything seems to just freeze up. None of the buttons will do anything.

Finally got my sniper medal. I prefer the tower at 4 instead of at 5. You have a little more cover.

I've heard that clearing a bunch of people off your FL helps. Of course that could have just been some jackass trying to get people to mess up their FL.

Well, I dumped all my saved games on the hard drive that's not related to the game and the log in process almost appeared like it was going to work.
Meaning that it took longer in the log in before it just locked up.

I can dump a lot of friends off my list. There's probably 45 people on there I don't even talk to anymore, much less even see online.

We'll see.

I get that message occasionally, but the longest was for a day. The next morning I disconnected and reconnected my wireless adapter and was fine. Usually I just sign back out all the way to the start screen and go back in.

I haven't heard of anyone having as much difficulty as you.

Some guy was also talking about another patch coming out to help w/ these problems, but that's all just lobby talk anyway even if it is true.

edit: I'm assuming that you're getting the "ea service unavailable" error right?

The EA error is the one I usually get. I'm not sure on the validity of the FL though. I only have 3 people on mine and still have issues.

It's the EA error that I'm getting. Something is happening behind the scenes between my Xbox and the server, and then it just stops.
So I'm wondering what the server is trying to do that the communication hangs on.
I have a feeling it could be the friends list because of the way it presents the friends list in the game.
But I'm grasping at straws here.

I think my play level starts at major. Haven't seen any lower.

Whats holding me back now is my damn pph. I'll have good games and then follow it up where I don't do shit. I just run around like a jack ass gettin shot. I was just in a game at backstab with 10 or less people in it and racked up 58 points just flagging mostly. Seems like a good way to get your pph up.

In one game I was in there was a guy who had 0 kills, 1 death, no flags, and 48 points. The next game he had 0 kills, 2 deaths, no flags, and 60 points. He must have hacked it somehow I dunno.

Yeah, I'm not sure how they do that quite yet. I ran into someone who was doing it the other day so I tried to follow him on another snowmobile but an airstrike separated us and I didn't run into him the rest of the round.

I wish pph was my problem. I've been messing around a lot trying to lower mine but standing around in games doing nothing gets pretty damn boring.

Flag captures, Flag defense and vehichle kills are all great for points. C4 a flag, once they neutralize it blow it and recapture. There's at least 5 points right there + multiple people + vehicles.

For consistent high points I found that my pph was soaring (90+) on frostbite. I prefer the chinese tank as it has a lower angle of fire for infantry. Snowmobiles, other tanks and capturing 2 and 4 should get you at least 30+ points per game.

Like I said on aim though, work on medals before you rank up. I'm still stuck at 7 and don't see that changing until I de-rank or am willing to spend a few days running around yelling who needs health who needs repair

I saw a guy get his healer medal by stay at flag four in the mosque right next to the health. When people would run up he'd say let me heal you so they'd go to him. Plus he could grab another sshot at the ammo bin there. The repair one seems almost impossible in an actual game situation, i.e. not cheating.

I like frostbite, but a lot of times I don't seem to get many points.

I took your advice and did the c4 deal at flag 2 in frostbite. It got a bit boring other than 1 gun fight where I took out 3 guys. I got 20 points. It would have been more if my teammates didn't swoop in and jack my 3 flag points every damn time. Ingrates.
