I know this is a couple of years early, but i was wondering who everyone thinks is going to run on the Republican ticket for 2008.

O and im putting my money on Dr. Frist, he's the Senate Majority Leader, a southerner, young, a doctor, popular in his party, and he doesnt have a bad history...that i can find( I personally would like to Newt become president, but everyone knows about the incident with his divorce. )But anyway Frist has the republican base to win the primaries, and with a more moderate runnig amte(Rice/Rudy), I think that gives him a good chance of winning.

It's a long shot but I'd say Jeb.

Although out of that list I would like to see Frist run, I just don't think it's likely. Senators rarely win presidential elections.

If either Jeb or Frist become the candidate, Republicans can kiss the Presidency goodbye. Sorry, frist is like a cross between Bob Dole and Steve Forbes, meaning an extremely boring personality with facial expressions similiar to your average child molester. Jeb Bush has two strikes going against him, his name is Jeb, and his last name is Bush.

Well who would your choice be Jafo?

Hmm, kind of early to make a serious decision, I would say right now that Guiliani has the best chance out of them all, but I don't think he would get nominated by the Conservative base.

No Guiliani unless he can sway some dems would never get support from conservatives. He is WAY liberal on social issues.

Arnold cannot run, so it isn't even worth discussing.

Well, he can't run yet. I seem to remember hearing something about him trying to change that. Personally, I think he should be able to. We're all imported. Well, most of us anyway.

And for Bush, historically, being named Bush has not been much of a strike. (No, I do not want to see Jeb in office)

For Guiliani winning the presidency wouldnt be hard, its winning the republican primary. As a former mayor of NYC, he has shown that he can swing votes. His problems are that he is soft on issues such as abortion and has a semi-questionable personal life(I believe an affair?). I think out of both parties he is just one of those politicians that could bring the country much closer b/c hes so moderate. It would be nice to see him be president, but i dont see it happening.

Isn't Guiliani also recovering from some form of cancer? Wasn't that his excuse for not running against Shrillary?

Guiliani was cured of colon cancer. Quite common these days.

As for Arnold. He will never be able to run for president and the only way it would be possible is a Constitutional amendment which will never happen.

I do not want a foreign born person to run this country, ever. Using Arnold for example, if Austria had the bomb and starting moving on Poland, he would surely have a conflict of interest. Sorry, but it asks too much.

Besides that, too many lefties out there would vote a frenchman in as President and then there would be a downright revolution in this country.

Anways, I think it's too easy to dismiss a foreigner as having conflicts of interest. People who came here with nothing and made something of themselves appear to have a true love and understanding of this country. Hell, I'd probably take a guy who grew up behind the iron curtain and knows how evil state ownership is instead of basically any citizen of San Fancisco.

That said, we see conflicts of interest all of the time. Like, our government continues to piss money away on Africa, just so we look good to the world. The only thing that would solve Africa is what we are doing in the middle east: Destroying the evil that prospers on the slavery of the innocent.

Frist, what? I don't know if this has been pointed out, but that's the jackass who claimed that AIDS could be transmitted by holding hands and crap.

Please.

I just hope enough Republicans feel left behind by this administration enough that McCain could get it. Hell, I might even vote for him.

Well, AIDS could be transmitted by holding hands, or did your imagination get lost?

Anyway, Frist is a dud. Very Bob Dolesk.. Hillary's tampon would beat him.
