The Major League home run leader just cranked a walk off home run off of Baltimore pitcher Todd Williams. Atlanta played with a lineup full of rookies, and threw out another rookie for his first major league start and he went 6 innings of shutout baseball. Atlanta has already won the first two games of the series, and they'll go for the sweep tomorrow. Bobby Cox is a genius.
AL East my ass. Yankees finish losing three out of four to those mighty Devil Rays, and then drop the first game of the series to the New York Mess. Beautiful.

Joey Devine is a relief pitcher. He is close to major leauge ready, but he is probably a couple of months away. The pitcher who pitched the six shutout innings was Roman Colon.

oh. ya joey devine pitched in a minor league game the other night. I think he walked a few and hit one guy, but he allowed no hits or runs. he went to NC State (my favorite college team).
I really think it was just first pro game jitters, because that happened to him as a freshman at state as well. he is a damn good pitcher though, I think he throws it 96-97.

Seriously, I don't care about the game you posted - but enough with the gay ass trend of that thread title. It was funny the first time - 6 months ago.
Yea, Yankees suck right now, big shocker.

Psst, when didn't the Yankees suck? It just makes our chant even more correct now that they are playing terrible.
11 wins in the last 12 games, incredible starting pitching, and an incredibly hot offense equal first place in the AL East. BOOOYA!
Oh, by the way, its all been without Curt Schilling.

When they won those 26 World Championships.

Check that off as time number 4,285,392,291 a Yankee fan has used that answer.
They still suck.

I've got high hopes for Devine, he could very well be closing in Atlanta by August ala Chad Cordero.

The reason I posted this is because everyone raves about how great the AL East is, and how much the NL East sucks. I don't have the numbers at hand, but I know Atlanta took the first two from Baltimore, the Mets took the first two from the Yankees, the Natspos took the first and are up in the second vs. Toronto, and Florida took the first and is up in the second vs. Tampa. The only decent team in the division, Boston (don't get me wrong I hate them too), has taken the first two from Philly. I just wanted to point this out, and bring it up for discussion. Thats all.

I'm fine with the thread - was just annoyed by the title.

Update:
AL East was 5-10 vs. the NL East this weekend. How sweet it is. The AL sucks, too bad they don't play real baseball.

Justus, I'm lovin' these Atlanta wins as well. Nothing like shutting Baltimore the hell up, and out of first. :D

I enjoyed them pretty thouroughly too. Baltimore is a decent team, probably as good as the Yankees, but not quite as good as Boston. I've been rooting for them to win the AL East though.

5-10 against NL East even with the Sox sweeping the Phils. Thats pretty ugly.
