So my Xbox got the three red lights of death about a week ago. I left for spring break and left it unplugged and when I got back it got the lights again. I found a tutorial on Xbox scene on how to fix the balance between the heatsinks and the motherboard, so I am in the process of doing that. I will find out tonight if it works. But I got to thinking that if I have it all apart right now, why not give it a new paint job, maybe replace the LEDs. I was wondering if any of you have any ideas for me. After I finish it all, which will probably be a month or two, I will put pictures up on here showing the final result.

i think u should use a dremel and make a cut out on the side ... insert plexi and some red led's ... not sure what design to make the cutout but with a dremel you can pretty much do what you want. Then paint it like a gun metal gray and get some model paint and "weather" it around the edges so it looks like an old metal box.

If mine hits the crapper I am going to do something like that

Yeah I was thinking about doing something with a dremel. This is my first mod tho, so it won't look amazing. If I did something with a dremel I would probably make a cut out of the Breaking Benjamin logo. They are my favorite band. Red lights behind that would be cool. I want to paint the case black, but make is shiny so it reflects objects, then change the LEDs on the Ring of Light to blue.

Well I got my Xbox working. It was pretty easy, and this was the first time that I have ever worked on something like this. After much thought, I think I am going to paint my Xbox so it looks like the Elites, and then paint the controller and stuff. I thought about doing an extreme mod, but I decided to wait and do that on something else. I'll also get the 120 GB HDD, so it will basically be a 360 Elite, but no HDMI.

oooh ... just had an idea. Why don't you paint it black and white like a police car and then put the breaking benjamin logo on it instead of a badge. Then you could put the red/blue led's
