Just find it funny how the NBA was able to work out a deal so quickly, while the NHL is still trying to work out major kinks in it's proposed CBA?

Does the NBA and their PA take the business much more seriously, do they have a greater love for their game? It is just mind boggling how the NHL and their PA acted like a bunch of prepubescent children fighting over who gets to play with the new transformer first.

What is your take on both situations, is it even fair to compare the two?

The main problem in my opinion is that all the members of the NHLPA think their sport is more popular than it really is. For some fool reason they think they should get paid what players in the MLB, NBA, and NFL are getting. Well, let's face it, Hockey is primarily a Canadian and Eastern European sport and until they modify the game to become more attractive to big market customers like the US and Western Europe, their pay will continue to go down.

I have a few suggestions: Make the net bigger, eliminate ties (ties are so unamerican), basically do whatever you can to increase scoring. I find it funny that the only time I like watching hockey is when it is being played on a game console, where the scores are more comparable to say baseball.

Jafo has a great point, the problem is that they think their sport is more popular. As with baseball i thinkt he solution to this problem could be the elemination of a few of the weak teams, so you'll have more better players on the same team, which will not only increase scoring, but the level of gameplay in general.

It doesn't help matters when you see a hockey player on sportscenter telling fans to "kiss his ass" and that he somehow deserves more money.
