A buddy recommended this one to me : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817201202
Dunno, price seems right, but last thing I want is a P.O.S. piece of hardware. You guys think I'll be alright w/ this one, or should I go for something else?

I'd get a 4 port cable modem - but that's just me. The switch will do well, but eh, I don't like them in home environments.

Yeah, yeah, but I love my Motorola Surfboard. Thing is a tank. Great modem, never given me one single problem.

Yea jerky, I have the same thing. But you're trying to put multiple PC's on to extend it, right? Or at least, you're Xbox. Get a router, you'll need it down the road eventually.

Cheap, great router and interface to configure your firewall (Which you need). Think about it, don't bother with a switch.

Gracias, Casper. My boy Root is over, and he agrees. Guy must think I'm a broke ass fool. Said I'd be better off in the long run w/ this unit. Can't make it to the bank until Thursday, but will order it asap.
In other news, newegg kicks ass. Uncontrollably easy to work w/, and they offer great products at cut-throat prices. Good stuff.

This resolved yet? I've got a spare 8 port netgear 10/100 internet firewall/router/switch. You can have it if you pay shipping.
I think this is it, but I'll check the model number when I get home if you want:

Well, last I heard fiXXXer was fixing me up. If something comes up, though, I'll PM you MidniteArrow.
Man, what a great group of guys we got around here. I'd buy you all beers if it weren't for the whole distance thing.
