Is out.
Early.
Any of you pick this up yet? I was going to go put my pre-order on Conker in tomorrow, wasn't planning on picking up a game. Oh well, goodbye money.

This game is a riot.
Great stuff, lots of sandbox mayhem to be had. Plays like Psi-Ops/Mercenaries, but w/ a wicked sense of humor. It could very well be even funnier than PsychoNauts in many respects.
Crazy stuff, good game, I'd take it to my leader. :ninja:

Loved the demo. If I come across an extra $50 I'll grab it.

I have this game pre-ordered through EBGames.com.... Should be arriving sometime next week, and when it does, I'll throw my impressions in this thread.
Note: I am to blame for the DAH ads on the front page. Booyaka.
waffle.

I was kind of surprised to see it yesterday, actually. I knew it had some weird date (today I believe), but didn't think it'd be out so quickly.
Pandemic is always doing stuff like this for my birthday, though. Those silly guys and gals.
Oh, thought I'd add a little review I did for the game:
So far, I've put in about 5 hours w/ the game, and it's a lot of fun. Controls are tight, and it plays a lot like Psi-Ops, only the graphics and art design I find much more appealing. There is a good amount of sandbox action, and a lot of stuff to collect, but it's really all about the PK powers, the weapons ( Anal Probe ), and the copius amount of top-notch, social satire. Very funny game, and takes a lot of pokes at society, both contemporary and that of the Hoover era. Countless references to commies and such, and enough humorous pop references to have most geeks snorting out loud regularly. I laughed out loud at many of the thoughts of the citizens and cops, as well. And the things you can do w/ livestock!
So far, it seems like most of the missions allow you plenty of room to go nuts w/ your powers and weapons. I've only played one or two where you have to keep the alert level down. The alert level basically works a lot like GTA's, in that the more mayhem you cause, the higher the alert goes (from wary bystanders, to a police APB, to the army's involvement, to the G-Men. And, obviously, each level means more hardware coming for you, as well as tougher enemies.
A great thing Pandemic did was allow you to remain on the surface after you complete a mission. You can fly about in your saucer raising a ruckus, or go about it on foot and via jetpack to raise more hell, and perhaps farm some brainstems. Also, while on Earth, you can pick up sub-missions that, when you complete them successfully, win you more brainstems/DNA, which you spend at Pox's Lab.
Cool thing about the sub-missions is that once you complete one, you can do it again, but the requirements are usually upped, making it tougher each time you do one again.
Flying the UFO is a blast, too. You can get into and out of your UFO at will, and can return to your base whenever you'd like. If you fail a mission, you just have to choose it again and give it another go. There is no save function mid mission, so you have to watch your shields in combat, even though you're pretty tough against most enemies. The AI runs the gamut of dumb as rocks to some basic dodgers w/ heavy weapons. Nothing stellar, but there are surely as many humans to destroy as you could want, or you can be stealthy and take the form of any human you come across. You can maintain the disquise only as long as you retain your concentration.
Graphics have been good to gorgeous, and the framerate seems to be solid, floating around 60FPS. The sound is also great, a lot of theramin action, and the overall music seems to fit the tempo of the game. Voice acting is superb, and really fits the mood of the game, although Crypto's voice sounds a little too much like a well-known celebrity to give him enough of his own personality.
I'd give the game an 8.5 to a 9 so far. It's really a lot of fun, and while it's not totally non-linear, Pandemic has crafted the game in such a way that you can return over and over again to various areas to explore or just raise hell Furon style. Hardly any loading, also, except when entering/exiting the saucer, makes the game hard to put down, and easy to get sucked into.
Graphics: 8.5 (some bland, uninteresting textures. monotonous NPC models)
Sound: 9 (great voice acting and soundtrack.)
Gameplay: 9 (plays like Psi-ops, and a watered-down Mercenaries. you can take your time w/ the game, or just bust through mission by mission. lots to like here.)
Story: 9 (funny, goofy, B-movie material.)
Longevity: 8 (game could become tedious once beaten, and seems like one to beat mainly for the story, as the gameplay does sort of settle into the same old after about 20 missions, yet Pandemic does a good job of mixing up your objectives in interesting ways.)

Great writeup Thrash - been playing it since last night. I noticed on the 2nd level that there's this dorky kid with his 'alien mind reading power that I need some more juice for" is the voice of Raz - I couldn't stop laughing when i heard him.

At the moment, I am loving this game. The humor is top-notch (For being b-humor, which makes it easier for the writers, no doubt). Controls are good, AI is not too great, but fun enough to destroy.
I am up to the 3rd "level" at the moment. It was starting to get a bit repetitive, but out of the blue I was given the kickass Disintegrator Ray. Pandemic seems to have added a nice flow to the way the levels and rewards are structured.
Now if only I knew what the damn Probes are for (I have about.... 70 or so at the moment).

Seems like this game may be worth the 60 dollar price tag. Might have to pick it up at lunch today.

I don't know, either. Most likely they unlock something, but no idea what. As far as probes go, that Anal Probe is too damn funny. Played a bit last night, and was getting frustrated w/ one of the new missions, so I went to Rockwell and went on a probing spree. Those country folk are too damn easy to probe.
On another note, I'm loving the 'thoughts' of the general citizenry, as well as the scientists, G-men, and the rest. Some truly top-notch humor.

Ah! Cool. I will have to seek out this human child and rip his brainstem from his tiny, puny body. :ninja:

Finally collected all of the probes for one of the levels. Got all 30 in Rockwell, and it unlocked a B-Movie (Plan 9 From Outer Space Clip) and a selection of concept art in the Furorigami section.
I remember reading a piece about Pandemic creating their own sci fi B-Movie for inclusion within DAH! So it is likely it is unlocked in a similar manner.

Yeah, I'm suddenly interested in seeing Plan 9 from Outer Space, now. All I know of the film is from Johnny Depp's 'Ed Wood'. Hopefully I can get back into this game soon. Conker is absorbing all my gaming time right now, and I just picked up Fire Emblem : Sacred Stones, too.
I need a week off.

One of the most boring game I've played on a demo.
