Hiromichi Tanaka has recently confirmed in an interview with Pro-G that Square-Enix is in the process of developing a next gen MMORPG for 360 and Vista. Tanaka is the Senior Vice President of Software Development at Square Enix and he was the lead developer of Final Fantasy XI.

"I'm still working on XI as it's on-going" Tanaka told Pro-G. "We are also working on a next-generation MMORPG for 360 and Vista but PS3 is a possibility."

I doubt I'd be interested in another FF MMO, but if they were to offer others it'd be a huge hit for everyone. To have Vista finally play against the 360 players is what they've wanted since the system went live. Who knows when that will ever happen though.

Really old news. For at least 3 years they have been talking about this I wish they would tell us what it is already. If its my pic between a world based on FFVII or FFXII I would take 12 all the way. I just beat that game and it rocked. Plus having put 50+ hours into beating FFTA I feel like I know the world of FFXI a lot better. Also GMs being Judges would be way cool.

I loved FFXI and put 3 years into it. But I hope to god SE learns something from WOW.
