There has been recent development about an upcoming Xbox 360 software price cut for the 2007 fiscal year, but it looks as if that will unlikely happen anytime soon. It hasn't been ruled out completely, but if it is to happen it will come later in 2007.
There have been 10.4 million Xbox 360's shipped to retailers by the end of 2006, surpassing the estimated 10 million units. Shipment estimates for the fiscal year ending June 30th, 2007 have been reduced and are now at 12 million units. North America continues to be the strongest market for the Xbox 360.
