is this really Fat Joe? I mean his 5 other albums were all cr*p/mediocre/lame...

I was just listening to the cd on MTV.com the LEAK... and I must say, it's REALLY good...

I pretty much listened to the whole cd from start to finish and am really feeling it... and remember this is the edited version.. and I still think it's good.

check it out, I want to see what you guys think about it.

lol, you can say the same thing for 50...

The reason that 95% of the people buy his music is for the amazing beats... as for his lyrics, they have always been average.

I just brought up Fat Joe because his new cd really impressed me, when comparing it to his older stuff...

in terms of confronting each other, it doesn't mean jack.. It's all about selling records.. both Pansys want nothing to do with each other.. If a little hate song about one or the other is going to sell records, they'll write one.

Okay since Fat Joe used to be fatter, shouldn't he be Slim Joe? or Medium Build Joe?

Who the hell is 50? Joe's been in the game for over a decade now - while garbage ass, big headed 50 has been 'known' for about 3 years now. This is why I hate the way music is now - it's all about what's hot now, not what got those artists there.

As for the question of why do you think Joe's so right? Because of Big Pun.

Just different tastes. I prefer all Pun stuff over almost everything that's out right now (minus Em's freestyles) - his flow was just that much better. And I'm getting sick of hearing 50 sing so dam much - it's turning into bubblegum music for me.

lol, but it's ok for 50 cent to say "50" about 100 times in every one of his songs... Or yell G-UNIT every other line..

Illusion- you obviously haven't heard the album because the Nelly song is probably the WORST song on the cd.. That single sucks..only reason you mentioned it is because you probably heard/saw the single on TV...

Plus the CD probably has the best beats of any rap album this whole year.. Cool & Dre who did 'Hate it or Love it', supply the beats for 2/3 of the album.. With the rests of the beats from Timbaland, Lil Jon and Swizz Beatz.

another good part of the CD is that it's pretty much all Fat Joe, there are only 3 songs that feature other artists.. 1 of which is a Lean Back remix...

and have you heard YAYO rap..? He talks about dealing drugs all the time..

I am as unbiased as they come when it comes to music. I wasn't a Fat Joe fan before this cd.. But I give credit when it's due.. and this album is very well done. Any rap fan can appreciate a good rap album and this is definitely one of them.

your talking to me like i havent listened to the cd...i listened to it a good 3 weeks before its release date, i got the leak before most people had it...and "my fofo" isnt anything special, seems like to me you've never listened to rap beefs before, all you listen to is the songs made public, u havent heard the other shit released on mixtapes have you? didnt think so...50 killed him on alot of mixtapes...and the thing about piggy bank, he disses more people than just fat joe....

I've heard plenty of mixtapes.. but that's not the point of this thread.. Many of the people who buy CDs don't even know about Mixtapes... I am just hear talking about what's actually coming out to the public..

there is a big different between a mixtape and an actual album that's in stores.. Songs in a Mixtape are there for a reason.. and there is a reason why they don't actually make it into the actual album.

and if you checked out this album 3 weeks ago and still aren't feeling it.. then it makes me wonder why? The beats on this album are just sick.. Cool & Dre totally killed it.

'My FoFO' : here is a part of it... for those who haven't heard it.

- Fat Joe -
Fifty you goin to end up dead when you fuckin with crack
Talk about your girl pop off, where the fuck you be at
I see MJ in the hood more than Curtis
Matter of fact, this beef shit is making niggaz nervous
It’s gonna be families grieving every sunday service
End up with your head popped off thanks to Curtis
But he dont care, he’s still locked up in his house and shit
Steroid up and he wont come about that bitch
Is it me or does candy shop sound like magic stick ?
In the video, this nigga fifty bout to strip
Shaking his ass, what the fuck is wrong with this nigga
Fifty don’t make me
Oh yeah, you got sixty-five niggaz on your team
And they’re not from Southside Jamaica, Queens
They’re the boys in blue, and I’m just speaking the truth
Yeah we all see the bitch in you

then you obviously have no taste in music... it's the weakest track on the cd... Or atleast the ONE track that's very TRL friendly.. if you know what I mean..

mentioning Nelly alone makes me want to puke.. you talk about garbage.. I don't even want to go there.

I do love DMX...

let me say it again, I do love DMX...

Biography by Steve Huey
Following the deaths of Tupac Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G., DMX took over as the reigning, undisputed king of hardcore rap. He was that rare commodity: a commercial powerhouse with artistic and street credibility to spare. His rapid ascent to stardom was actually almost a decade in the making, which gave him a chance to develop the theatrical image that made him one of rap's most distinctive personalities during his heyday. Everything about DMX was unremittingly intense, from his muscular, tattooed physique to his gruff, barking delivery, which made a perfect match for his trademark lyrical obsession with dogs. Plus, there was substance behind the style; much of his work was tied together by a fascination with the split between the sacred and the profane. He could move from spiritual anguish one minute to a narrative about the sins of the streets the next, yet keep it all part of the same complex character; sort of like a hip-hop Johnny Cash. The results were compelling enough to make DMX the first artist ever to have his first four albums enter the charts at number one.

DMX's full-length debut, It's Dark and Hell Is Hot, to debut at number one on the pop charts. Produced mostly by Swizz Beatz, who rode the album's success to a lucrative career of his own, It's Dark and Hell Is Hot earned DMX numerous comparisons to 2Pac for his booming, aggressive presence on the mic, and went on to sell over four million copies. Before the end of 1998, DMX completed his second album, and a pending buyout of Def Jam pushed the record into stores that December. Featuring a controversial cover photo of the rapper covered in blood, Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood entered the charts at number one and eventually went triple platinum. The following year, DMX hit the road with Jay-Z and the Method Man/Redman team on the blockbuster Hard Knock Life tour. The Ruff Ryders posse — of which DMX was a core, founding member — released a showcase compilation, Ryde or Die, Vol. 1. With contributions from DMX, as well as Eve, the LOX, and multiple guests, Ryde or Die, Vol. 1 debuted at number one in the spring of 1999, further cementing DMX's Midas touch.Toward the end of 1999, DMX released his third album, ...And Then There Was X, which became his third straight to debut at number one. It also produced his biggest hit single since "Get at Me Dog" with "Party Up (Up in Here)," which became his first Top Ten hit on the R&B charts. The follow-ups "What You Want" and "What's My Name?" were also quite popular, and their success helped make ...And Then There Was X the rapper's best-selling album to date, moving over five million copies.

if you read the first post of this thread.. I stated that I though the album was very very well done..

I can't remember a rap cd in the past 4 years that was perfect../ every track was great... Every CD has its duds.. and a song with Nelly is a dud 95% of the time.

The things that I can appreciate from All or Nothing:

- No Skits
- Amazing beats (Cool & Dre, Swizz Beats, Lil Jon, Just Blaze)
- All but 2 tracks (IMO) are very well done.. It's rarity when I can sit down and listen to the whole cd from start to finish, without skipping songs..
- The cd feels "real" to me.. it seems that 1/2 the rap cds that have been coming out.. were a littl too POP for me.. especially 50cent and his radio/trl friendly songs.. They are definitely very catch, but sometimes you need a break..

I guess for me, this CD is a break from all the same "stuff" thats been coming out lately.
