And you're division still sucks because the Expos are in contention.

Great job by A-Rod. I hope he'll be around to beat everything that Bonds' does in his career - just so we never have to hear him brought up again, except for "so and so just went into 3rd place, surpassing Bonds on the career HR list".

The East is sucking this year, no doubt. If Bobby can figure out a way to keep the Baby Braves in it until Chipper, Thomson, Hampton, and Hudson get back you'll have a team that will threaten for the WS this year, and until 2010.

How many WS titles has New York won in the past five or so years? Since we all know that winning the World Series is all that matters, and the best team in baseball always wins it. Idioticy. The Playoffs are a crapshoot, they no more determine who the best team in baseball is than putting out the names of all eight playoff teams and letting a rooster pick the winner.

Atlanta has been ravaged by injuries, most of the rotation: Hudson, Thomson, Hampton. Plus one of the greatest hitters in baseball, Chipper Jones. This team is lucky to still be in the race.

My team doesn't suck this year. Despite their injuries they're still four games over .500. I don't need to defend this team, I'll just let Kelly Johnson do the talking for me.

Update: Yankees are about to lose to Tampa and fall to only *two* games over .500.

Its amazing, Atlanta's payroll is less than half that of New York's and they're getting a lot more bang for their buck. Its ridiculous that a team with a payroll in excess of $200 million can't post a record any better than two games over .500
