Holy CRAP! I am so freakin pumped about this game. After seeing that onstage demo it's the number one game on my list. Too many games I want coming out. BioShock, Assassin's Creed, The Darkness, Gears of War, Call of Duty 3 (maybe), and I'm pretty sure if I check out more trailers I'll start wanting more like Rainbow Six: Vegas, Mass Effect, Splinter Cell, and more. I agree with the majority of you. I'm going to be broke soon with these games coming out.

It's the same trailer that they showed at E3. What a letdown - nothing new?

What? Not the trailer. The onstage demo. Search around Gametrailers for it. http://www.gametrailers.com/ It's on the seventh page when you click that link. (if you have flash player 7) If not then just search Assassin's Creed.

Casper you friggin noob the on stage demo that was shown at X06 is not the friggin trailer from E3. This shows actual gameplay.

Ok and after doing a bit more reading on this game apparently even though the game leads you to believe it takes place in medevil time the actual game takes place way in the future and you play through the memories of one of assassins decendents.. So basically you're playing out the memories of the assassins relative in the future.

Some cool little details in the game like when the GAME IS PAUSED instead of saying GAME PAUSED the screen says MEMORY PAUSED.

But yes this game looks AMAZING

Hmm.. I wonder how the whole memories of the assassins relative come into play with the game. Perhaps, some time around the end or in between major parts you control him. Probably not but who knows.

Aww.. I'm quickly losing interest. Before I didn't think anything could mess up the fact that I was getting it not matter what. I guess now I'll have to wait till the time comes when more information will be released.

Taken from Wiki

News has also circulated about a 'sci-fi twist', due to information from developer interviews, and some effects visible in trailers of the game. It is theorized that the historical setting may be a simulation, for purposes of training or other gain, being undertaken by an unknown group in the future. During a trailer shown at E3, the screen would glitch and go fuzzy at times, and at one point where Altair is killed, the screen fades to black and then shows a head's up display with the words 'computer offline'. Ubisoft have confirmed Assassin's Creed will be part of a trilogy, and have also stated that one or both of the sequels will have a futuristic setting.

In the June 2006 issue of Game Informer, it was revealed that the player is actually a far-future descendant of Altair who is looking back on his ancestor's exploits. The game is experienced through genetic memory, and the game actually becomes more defined and easier as this descendant remembers more about his ancestor. The 'computer offline' message may be a computer that is decoding these memories, and death in the memory is some kind of glitch in the system. This is consistent with this particular design team, as in Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, death was interpreted as a mistake in the Prince of Persia's recounting of his story to Farah. In an Xbox 360 gameplay demo at X06, a screen appears with the words 'memories /01' after the character dies.

That is awesome. Holy shit after reading that I am more interested. I wonder if like since you are looking back to your ancestor, I wonder if he will become an assassin in the modern times. Man, I want this game now!

I don't really like the fact they're going into modern time because then it brings in the gun factor. I'd rather have a nice assassination weapon like his hidden dagger then a sniper riffle, which is why talk about them going into WW2 era makes me dislike the game a bit. I hope they work around the use of guns.

Well this one may not go into WWII. This is just the first game in a new series. So maybe this one will be during the crusades, then with each one it progresses. I think that would be cool to see how like it is still assassinating, but using different methods.

Yeah we know.. So perhaps the first one is only going to be around the crusade period, and the next one will be in a different time period? Pretty awesome.

How can something you never played be 100 times better than something that does not exist?

...Wow, what is it with people and getting so defensive about shit that dosen't matter. Have you seen the game-play video? Much better than SC...

Did I exaggerate? Yes. Am I basing what I said on pure expecations based on what I have seen of the game? Yes.

How about next time I exaggerate and voice my opinion I'll wink twice for the slow folk...

This game and Bioshock are swaying me toward a 360. I'm just wary of the system, as w/ my luck, I'll get a lemon.

Any which way, I can't drop the coin on it now, got too many other things I need to take care of first. But this does look like a hell of a game.
