For my Political Sciences class, I have to find news articles and examples of the president fulfilling his many roles over the last 4.5 years. Not being much of a political buff and the fact that it is harder to find trustworthy articles the further away the event occured, makes this assignment a bit harder for me. So I'm asking for some help in finding articles that talk about what the president does, and what role it can be classified as.

The Roles:

Chief of State : Ceremonial Functions
Chief Executive : Presides over cabinet in an effort to carry out laws
Chief Diplomat: Represents US in foreign affairs
Commander in Chief: Responding to crises, war decisions.
Chief Legislator : Influence over law making (state of union, veto, etc.)
Voice of People : shaping public opinion/power to persuade
Manager of Prosperity : tiking credit/blame for the economy
Protector of Peace : Deal with national crises
Chief of Party : head of political party
World Leader : intervenes in international events

Any help would be much appreciated, as I am not having a whole lot of luck.

Thanks.

Theres really nothing specific to be asked. Its just a matter of finding news articles about something the prez has done.

For example, it can be as simple (in some cases) as a story about the president throwing out the first pitch at a baseball game (Chief of state, cant use this one though), or an article about the press conference announcing the war on Iraq (Commander in chief, i can use this one).

My main problem is in actually finding them.

Seriously, Jafo; Shut the fark up. You think I wouldn't have at least tried searching on Google first?

Why don't YOU try and find trustworthy, non-biased news articles from a few years ago on Google. Tell me if you have much luck, because I didn't. Many news sites tend to delete their archives pretty soon after they re posted to make room for newer ones. I just asked a simple question to see if anyone had any suggestions on what to search for, where to look, or, at best, an actual article.

So get off your high horse. Have you ever head of this characteristic? It is really cool, its called "basic respect and politeness". You should check it out sometime.

Oh, and thank you, Snake.
