What is all of your first impressions of the leaked console?

I think it's quite the improvement over the original XBox, and it seems like it will be much more of the space saver this time around. The placement of the HD seems ideal for the fit of the system, and the console on it's end also looks quite nice.

The photoshop-esque image, I'd imagine, is not the final version. The actual photograph of the 40 Gig bay, however, I believe to be 100% real. I'd imagine the system will differ slightly, but the general design will stay intact.

Only a short while longer until we see it for ourselves.

Actually I think the concave will make it very stackable. As far as I know, one of the reasons for the convex shape of the original was to keep you from stacking things on top of it for cooling reasons.

With this design, you can put things on top and still have an open area between the xbox and the component on top.

It is, a little smaller, but almost as bulky (based on some estimating some other guy did using the size of the drive) I'll see if I can find the pics.

One comment i've read a few times now is that "Microsoft is screwing itself by making a bulky system. It won't sell well in Japan at all."

I dont think it will be that big of an issue, due to the ability to prop it up vertically. IF you think about it, you can easily prop the system into a narrow spot, or along side your TV. The lack of actual wired controllers is another bonus, as you can place it on top of your television (Or above it) with no obstructions to the screen due to controller wires.

Pretty nice. Good to see they got rid of the VCR size and look of the current Xbox.

First time I'm seeing this stuff. We have the apparant front view of the new console, but according to Duke's comparison, the top shot of the console will tell everything. The front shots of the two don't show much size difference.

Won't some sort of infra-red switch or some other crap be needed for something like that? There has to be something there.

I'm assuming that black void next to the memory card slot is the IR sensor.

In order to use the controllers, you will have to sign up for a passport account, register your controller, pay $5 per one hour of use, and agree not to use Linux.

Anyone know what the estimated price point for this bad-boy is going to be? I am assuming we will be shelling out a good 500 bucks off the bat?

Well one of those market analyst firms released last week they think it will retail for 249-299.
